BMW India has launched a new sporty petrol version of its X1 SUV in India. Badged as the 2023 BMW X1 sDrive18i M Sport; this new version is priced at Rs 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW X1 sDrive18i M Sport Details
The M Sport is now the top-spec version of the newly introduced X1 SUV in India. BMW has done some tasteful modifications to its exteriors and interiors to make it look more sporty. The front end now gets a larger kidney grille with a redesigned bumper and adaptive LED headlights. The L-shaped LED DRLs also make it look aggressive. Additionally, the door handles are different on it when compared to the other variants. Meanwhile, the LED taillights have also been reprofiled for a sporty appeal.
On the inside, it gets an M Sport-inspired M-steering wheel. The sporty appeal of this steering wheel is supported by stainless steel pedals, an aluminium mesh effect, & anthracite roof lining. Also, it comes equipped with Active Seats with massage functions for the front passengers. Some other interesting features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument console and a 10.7-inch of touchscreen infotainment screen as well. It also gets a Harman Kardon music system and HUD.
Under the bonnet, the M Sport X1 version is still powered by the same petrol engine as seen on the other petrol variant. It features a 1.5-lt 3-cylinder engine that generates a modest 132 bhp of peak power & 230 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, a 7-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters is offered on it.
Verdict
X1 is the entry-level SUV from BMW in India. It has been launched in a fresh avatar not long ago. However, BMW is known to offer its products with M Sport versions. The M Sport variants generally offer a better-driving feel for enthusiasts. BMW has also opened the bookings for the new X1 M Sport and its deliveries shall begin by June 2023. Its direct rival in India are - Mercedes-Benz GLA & Audi Q3.
