2023 Honda SP 125 - New Engine

The first & most significant revision is its engine. While it still uses the same 124cc single-cylinder engine, it now gets ePS. The ESP (Enhanced Smart Power) is an idle engine start/stop function that enables more fuel economy. Also, the new engine is now compliant due to the new BS6 Phase 2 norms. Hence, it has now become more refined as well as fuel efficient. This engine still uses Honda's trademarked PGMF-I tech. The peak power output stands at 10.7 bhp & 10.9 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox is the same old 5-speed unit.
New Features

With the revisions in the engine, Honda has also fitted a new instrument console on it. The new SP 125 now comes with a fully digital instrument console. It also gets functions like Eco Shift Indicator, Gear Position Indicator, Service Due Indicator, &, etc. Meanwhile, an engine start/stop switch has also been fitted on it. The rider can use it according to their convenience. It is a two-way working switch that acts as an engine ignition button. An integrated headlight beam & pass switch has also been fitted on the new SP.
Design & New Colours

In terms of design, the bike still remains unchanged. However, Honda has revised the colours and graphics on it to make it look younger. It is now available in a total of 4 colour options - Striking Green, Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. Additionally, Honda is selling it in two variants that include a drum brake version & a disc brake version.
Verdict
The SP 125 has been one of the best-selling products for HMSI. But, as its rivals like Hero Super Splendor Xtec & TVS Raider 125 have revised themselves; the new update was much needed. It is well known for its reliable engine & silent performance. The new updated bike promises to take things one step ahead. Let us know in the comments what you feel about the new Honda SP 125.
