Ola Electric Bike Details
If you are wondering what Ola will do in the e-bike segment; well there is a lot to come. On the launch of the S1 Air, Ola announced that it is working on various electric bikes. Upon being asked about their details; Ola said that it will enter various segments. The first is going to be the budget e-bike segment that includes the likes of the Revolt RV 400 & the Tork Kartos. However, Ola will also debut in the mid-weight performance segment.
This segment caters to the likes of the upcoming Ultraviolette F77. This segment caters the buyers who can opt for the performance of Duke 390 in an electric avatar. Meanwhile, the ambitious statement also claimed that Ola will debut in the premium e-bike segment. This segment has not been catered to in India until now. However, as per the company, there is a lot of potential in this segment. Hence, Ola will debut in this segment and wants to be the segment leader as well.
Ola made this statement on the launch of the new S1 Air. It is an entry-level S1 e-scooter that caters the buyers with a limited budget. However, this scooter gets all of the bells and whistles that the Ola S1 Pro gets. Meanwhile, there is cost reduction as well to make it budget-friendly. The S1 Air is 26 kg lighter and offers less performance and riding range when compared to the siblings. However, it is its pricing that is very attractive as it is available at only Rs 79,999 only for the first batch of customers.
Verdict
Ola is working hard in the EV segment of India. The ultra-popular S1 and S1 Pro are already doing well whilst the S1 Air is also expected to follow their trail. However, e-bikes in India are still struggling to achieve good sales. If Ola does everything correctly, its upcoming electric bikes will be a huge success in India. Meanwhile, it will not be any time sooner before the end of 2023 that we see these bikes running on the streets of India.
