Design
Ditch the toy vibes! The 2024 Honda Grom sheds its cute exterior for a sophisticated makeover. It's brand new bodywork exudes maturity, evident in the sharper headlight cluster, a bolder fuel tank adding presence, and sleek side panels. The minimalist tail section completes the modern look, offered in two striking new colors: Pearl Horizon White and Matte Gunpowder Black. This Grom is all grown up but promises the same fun and agility in a more stylish package.
Beneath the stylish exterior, the 2024 Grom retains its playful spirit. A sturdy steel mono-backbone frame forms the foundation, held steady by a capable USD fork and mono-shock setup. Rolling on lightweight alloy wheels, the Grom grips the road with a 120-section tire up front and a slightly wider 130-section tire at the rear, ensuring agility and confident handling.

The Honda Grom 125 retains its polygonal headlamp, halogen turn indicators, circular rear-view mirrors, chiseled fuel tank, blacked-out engine and exhaust, and a single-piece seat. With the 2024 model, users will now have the option to select from new accessories including a Type C USB socket, seat bag, saddlebag, rear carrier, undercowl, meter visor, and knuckle guard.
Powertrain
The motorcycle is equipped with a 123cc air-cooled engine, delivering 10 PS of maximum power and 11 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. With an impressive mileage of 67.8 km/l, the bike has gained popularity among riders. Although the form factor is completely different from the Hero Xtreme 125R, the power figures remain in the same ball park.
An India Launch Soon?
The 2024 Honda Grom's mature redesign might spark hope for its India debut. Though patented here in 2021, the Navi's lackluster performance makes an immediate launch shaky. However, evolving tastes and a growing demand for unique bikes could change the game.
Verdict
Honda Grom 125 facelift debut in Japan is an evidence of its success overseas. However, Indian market has not been very receptive to this segment as portrayed by the slumped demand of Honda Navi in the past. Will it ever re-enter the subcontinent is still something that has a very less probability of happening, although not zero.
