Kia has launched the updated 2024 Kia Carens in India at a starting price of Rs. 10.52 lakhs ex-showroom. The refreshed MPV now comes with more features and new variants. 2024 Kia Carens Updated: New Features Introduced
The refreshed Kia Carens brings a host of additions to the table. A new diesel manual engine, new trims, more features, and a new color option as well. Speaking of the variants, the Prestige(O) now offers features like a sunroof, LED Mao lamp, and room lamp. The Prestige (O) variant now comes with the choice of a six or seven-seater layout, a leatherette-wrapped gear knob, a smart key with push-button start, an LED Rear Combination lamp, an LED DRL, and a positioning lamp.
In the same chain of actions, the Premium (O) trim now offers new features such as Keyless entry, an 8 D/Audio system, a Shark Fin antenna, a Steering wheel-mounted remote control, burglar alarms, and improved safety features. Moreover, all variants now come equipped with a 180W charger in place for the previous 120W. In this refresh, Kia has also introduced updates with the X-Line model with features such as a dashcam, all windows auto up & down with voice commands, and expanded 7-seating options. The Carens is now also available in a new Pewter Olive colour option across variants except for the X-Line model.
2024 Kia Carens Powertrain: New Diesel Manual Now Available
The Kia Caresn comes in 3 engine options. 1.5 litre diesel that puts out 116bhp power with a torque of 250Nm. Another is a 1.5 litre NA petrol unit that is good for 115hp and 144 Nm of torque with a sole 6-speed manual transmission. Finally, the 1.5 litre turbo petrol mill puts out 160hp and 253 Nm of torque and is mated to either a 6-iMT or a 7-speed DCA. The diesel engine can now be had in either a 6-speed manual, 6-iMT, or a torque converter gearbox option.

Price And Rivals
The base price of the MPV is now increased and is priced at Rs. 10.52 lakhs and tops out at Rs. 19.67 lakhs ex-showroom. Interstingly, the 6-seater 2024 Carens starts at Rs. 12.12 lakhs, and 1.5 Diesel MT Carens is priced at Rs. 12.67 lakhs ex-showroom. Verdict
The Carens MPV puts forward its best foot in 2024. The introduction of new variants and introducing new features in the exisiting ones makes it even more lucrative than before. Where the segment is a tough one to crack, Kia aims to keep clocking enough numbers to leave its mark.
