Maruti has just recently updated the Ertiga MPV with some really nifty tweaks, where it added a few features to the Arena model. 2025 Maruti XL6: Longer Length & A Few More Features
One of the most notable changes on the 2025 Maruti XL6 is its elongated rear section, stretched by around 40 mm. The result is a more upright tailgate and a slightly larger overall footprint. The MPV also gains a redesigned roof spoiler, which is longer and more prominent than before, further accentuating its stance. Despite these sheet metal changes, the front and side profiles remain familiar, retaining the XL6's rugged yet premium appeal within Maruti's lineup.
Inside, Maruti has reworked the second and third-row experience. The earlier roof-mounted AC vents with blower have been replaced with floor-mounted vents for the second row, while the third row now gets its own blower control, switchable from the dashboard area. Convenience has also improved with USB Type-C ports for both second- and third-row occupants, though both vents for the third row are positioned on the right and the charging ports on the left. Cupholders remain for passengers, but cooled cupholders have been removed in this update.
Just like the recently updated Ertiga, the XL6 now benefits from six airbags across all trims,up from the earlier four. aligning Maruti's MPV family with stricter safety expectations. Other features remain largely unchanged, ensuring that the XL6 continues to balance practicality with premium touches.
Powertrain: No Mechanical Changes
The 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine continues unchanged, producing 102 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The CNG variant also remains part of the lineup, with the CNG cylinder still mounted in the luggage area.
Verdict
With the 2025 update, the Maruti XL6 evolves subtly but effectively. The longer rear improves its stance, while revised AC vent placement and extra charging options cater to the daily needs. Although some useful features like cooled cupholders have been deleted, the addition of six standard airbags makes the XL6 a safer proposition. By retaining its reliable petrol and CNG powertrains and avoiding a price hike despite the updates, Maruti has ensured that the XL6 continues to appeal as a value-driven premium MPV.
