1. Most Affordable Panoramic Sunroof In Segment: At Rs 12.5 L Ex-Showroom

The refreshed MG Astor now features a Shine trim level that includes a panoramic sunroof. With an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.48 lakh, it stands as the most budget-friendly SUV in its category to offer this feature. This development comes shortly after Hyundai's introduction of the Creta's EX(O) trim, priced at Rs. 12.97 lakh for its panoramic sunroof variant, further easing the accessibility of this feature.
2. Rejigs In Effect
Not just this, from the Select variant onwards, the MG Astor comes with six airbags as standard. Although this could have been further offered from the base model itself to make it standard across variants, this step-up in safety is a welcome move as well. Apart from this, the Ivory seating option is now standard across the trim level, where the top-spec Savvy Pro offers the option for Sangria Red, which is a mix of red and black.

3. Same Powertrain Options
Buyers can choose between two engine configurations, where the first is a 1.5-liter petrol engine, naturally aspirated, which delivers 108 hp and 144 Nm of torque, and can be coupled with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox. For those desiring more power, a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine is offered, producing 138 hp and 220 Nm of torque, exclusively paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
4. Feature Loaded
The MG Astor distinguishes itself with a comprehensive technology package designed for comfort and convenience. This includes ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, seamless smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The i-SMART 2.0 system provides a connected experience with over 80 features, complemented by the JIO Voice Recognition system for hands-free access to diverse information. Security is enhanced by a digital key and a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) offering 14 autonomous functionalities.

Verdict
MG Astor is a decent seller in the segment without any exciting sales number, even though it is one of the most well-equipped in its class. This refresh adds one of the currently most desired features at the lowest price which happens to be the panoramic sunroof and the avaialbility of six airbags from lower trims adds on to the bling. The sunroof alone could attract some eyeballs, but how much of all this adds to the sales numbers is yet to be revelaed.
