MG Binguo EV Latest Update
Last Updated on 24th June'24: Exterior: Like the MG Comet EV, which is a rebadged Wuling Air EV, the upcoming MG Bingo EV will also be a rebadged version of the Wuling Bingo EV. However, unlike the Comet EV, the new Bingo EV will have a more conventional five-door design with a curvaceous design language. The cutesy appearance of the MG Bingo EV will include curved surfaces, all-LED projector headlamps with X-themed LED DRLs and curved and sweptback LED tail lamps. The MG Bingo EV will also have a fender-mounted charging port and multi-spoke wheel caps for its steel wheels.
Interior and features: The cabin of the MG Bingo EV will have a curved design for the cockpit behind the two-spoke steering wheel, which will have a free-standing full-TFT cockpit with two 10.25-inch screens for the instrument console and infotainment system at the top of it. This contrast cockpit also has round-themed controls for the sleek AC vents on the lower centre console and curved AC vents on the dashboard corners. The MG Bingo EV will be a decently equipped car for its price, with expected features including a powered driver’s seat, wireless charger, cruise control, six airbags and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Battery and Motor: Based on the same Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform as the Comet EV, the MG Bingo EV is expected to be launched with the same front-mounted 41 bhp electric motor and single-speed transmission as the former. The Bingo EV might also share the 17.3kWh battery with a 230 km range with the Comet EV, though there might also be a more powerful variant with a 75 bhp electric motor and a 24kWh battery with a 315 km range.
Launch Time:MG already has launches lined up for 2024, including special-edition variants of Gloster and the all-new Cloud EV. The MG Bingo EV might arrive in the Indian car market in the earlier weeks of the second half of 2025.
Rivals:The prime rivals for the MG Bingo EV will be the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. In addition, the new Bingo EV will also be positioned as a more practical and conventional-looking offering compared to the rather subjective-looking Comet EV.
Price:With larger dimensions but the same expected battery and motor as the Comet EV, the MG Bingo EV might be priced between Rs 10-14 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
