Ola Electric has let go of their Quality Assurance Head, Mr. Joseph Thomas after barely a year before his completion.
Electric-two wheeler maker Ola Electric is quite busy with the delivery of their upcoming electric scooters the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. They have already received bookings worth around Rs. 1,200 crore, but are facing heavy criticism from customers due to delayed delivery. Amidst this pressure, Ola Electric has let go of their Quality Assurance head, Mr. Joseph Thomas, within barely a year of its hire.
Mr. Josepth Thomas joined Ola Electric from Renault India, where he spent 11 years in several capacities. It ranged from parts program, management, and corporate quality. Before Renault, he was with Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 9 years. Ola Electric hasnt cited any reason behind letting go of him, however, sources have cited that Ola will make several senior-level hires for their operations in the safety and quality department at their Ola Futurefactory.

Besides, the second purchase window of these scooters has also been delayed from November 1st to December 16th.
The test models that were given out for initial reviews to our fellow automotive journalists were also not fully production-ready. But Varun Dubey, chief marketing officer of Ola Electric has assured that the final model will see significant improvement with the over-the-air updates.
Both the Ola S1 and S1 Pro will see the use of being heavy-software scooters. Several advertised features like Hill-Hold assist, voice-activated command, remote unlocking, were missing in the test models. However, these features are just an over-the-sky update away.
