New Budget Ather Electric Scooter In Pipiline

Ather Energy, known for its premium electric scooters like the 450X and Rizta, is preparing to enter the budget-friendly segment. The company is working on a new range of electric scooters targeting more cost-conscious customers, marking a strategic shift from its earlier upscale market focus. With current models priced between Rs. 1.1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, Ather has mostly appealed to urban upper-middle-class buyers. This upcoming lineup aims to broaden the brand's reach and make electric mobility accessible to a wider audience across India.

Ather Energy is gearing up to enter the budget EV segment with a new platform dubbed 'EL', which will support a lineup of more cost-effective scooters positioned below the current 450X and Rizta models. Still in development, this platform is part of Ather's broader expansion plans and is expected to debut in the next few years. While the company hasn't given a launch date, it also revealed that work is underway on a new platform dedicated to electric motorcycles, signaling its push into multiple EV categories.

Ather Eight70 Warranty Plans

Ather Energy offers the 'Eight70 Warranty' plan for its Rizta and 450 Series scooters, priced at Rs 4,999. The warranty ensures a minimum of 70% battery health for 8 years or 80,000 km. It covers manufacturing defects and unlimited claim amounts and protects against deep discharge damage. However, it excludes issues caused by negligence, modifications, accidents, natural wear, or external damage. The plan is aimed at easing concerns around EV battery longevity and replacement costs.
Ather currently offers the Rizta and 450 Series lineup, which includes the 450S, 450X, and 450 Apex along with the Rizta. A key highlight of the Eight70 Warranty is that it's transferable to the next owner, enhancing the scooters resale value and long-term appeal.
