Aprilia RS440 - Perfect Rival To KTM RC 390?
After seeing the potential of the middle-weight performance bike market in India, Aprilia seems convinced of introducing a new bike. This will be the RS440 fully-faired sports bike. The upcoming model has already been spotted testing in India. The latest spy shots which surfaced online recently, show close design details. It'll look more or less like a baby RS660. The overall design language is very similar to the bigger 660cc sibling. At the front, it uses the curvy design elements for twin headlights & the visor. The side profile shows the sculpted fuel tank and the short side fairing design, which is quite aerodynamic. At the rear, one can spot the split dual LED taillight setup with an aero design for side panels.
The rider stance will be dedicated, as visible. Also, the split seat setup shall make short journeys comfortable for the pillion. Meanwhile, it'll be equipped with features like LED lights, a TFT colour console, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. Aprilia is sought to use a 440cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine on it. It shall generate a peak power of around 48 bhp. This powertrain will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. In terms of hardware, it'll be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, riding modes, etc.

Recently, KTM RC 390 got updated in the Indian market. It received changes to its design, features, & performance. Also, Yamaha R3 is planned for its India return by the upcoming Diwali festival. Hence, Aprilia might not want to miss this opportunity. Therefore, the RS440 shall launch around Diwali in India. We expect that its pricing will be towards north of Rs 3.5 lakh for sure.
