Aprilia RS457 made its launch on December 8 at the India Bike Week, attracting significant attention from potential buyers. The production phase of the bike has now kicked off at Piaggio's Baramati plant, and deliveries are set to commence on March 1. Notably, the RS457 marks Aprilia's inaugural attempt at producing a motorcycle in India, and it's noteworthy that this model will also be shipped overseas.

Aprilia RS457: Details
The RS457 is priced at Rs. 4.10 lakh and is offered in three vibrant colours Prismatic Dark, Racing Stripes, and Opalescent Light. Taking design cues from the larger RS models in Aprilia's lineup, the motorcycle features a distinctive split-LED headlamp set within an intricately designed angular fairing at the front. Atop the exposed aluminium chassis sits a well-sculpted fuel tank, leading to a sharp tail housing a split-type seat.
Under the hood, it's driven by two parallel forward-facing cylinders, boasting 4 valves per cylinder and a liquid-cooled system with Ride-By-Wire technology. With a displacement of 457 cc, the RS457 delivers a maximum power of 47.6 HP at 9,400 rpm and a peak torque of 43.5 Nm at 6,700 rpm. The clutch system is a multi-plate wet clutch with a slipper system, and the gearbox offers 6 gears. Additionally, there's an optional bi-directional feature.

On the suspension front, the RS457 is equipped with a 41mm upside-down fork at the front with adjustable preload and 120mm travel, while the rear features a mono-shock with adjustable preload and 130mm wheel travel. Braking is managed by a 320mm floating disc with a ByBre 4-piston radial calliper at the front, and a 220mm disc with a ByBre single-piston calliper at the rear, both incorporating a dual-channel ABS system.
The RS457 is equipped with a modern LED headlight setup, Engine maps (AEM), dual-channel ABS featuring an anti-roll-over system with 2 maps, and traction control (ATC), offering three distinct riding modes. The bike also comes with a 5-inch TFT instrument panel and metal braided brake hoses, enhancing both style and functionality. Additionally, the backlit handlebar controls add a touch of sophistication.
In direct competition, the RS457 faces off with the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the Yamaha YZF-R3. These motorcycles are formidable contenders in the market.
