BMW iX Launch On December 11 - Details You Should Know!

With many luxury car manufacturers entering India's electric vehicle space, BMW India too is now all set to launch their first fully electric vehicle in India - the iX SUV. The all-new BMW iX will be launched in India on December 11 and will be brought to India via the CBU route. Once launched, the iX will rival the cars like Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron SUVs. Here are all the details that you should check out about this new all-new BMW electric SUV in India. BMW iX - Powertrain

The new BMW iX is available in two different iterations in the international markets. The first is the iX xDrive40 that produces 326 hp and a peak torque output of 630 Nm. This version boasts a maximum driving range of 414 km on a single charge while the 0-100kmph timings stand at 6.1 secs. The second version happens to be the iX xDrive 50. This iteration of the car delivers a peak power output of 523 hp while the maximum torque stands at 765 Nm. In addition to the better power and torque figures, this version of the car also boasts a better driving range. The iX xDrive59 gets a driving range of up to 611 km and can do a 0-1000kmph run in just 4.6 secs! Both versions are powered by dual electric motors with one motor on each axle. Both the cars can run in pure rear-wheel-drive to save on battery while the driver may also switch to all-wheel drive when required.

Needless to say, the iX xDrive 50 gets a bigger battery pack with a rating of 105.2 kWh. The xDrive 40 on the other hand gets a 71 kWh battery pack. Both the versions can be charged using optional DC fast charging at up to 195 kW. Using this charger, the xDrive 50 can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 35 minutes while the xDrive 40 on the other hand takes 31 minutes for the same. The car can also be charged using the 11kW AC wallbox fast charger that can charge the car from 0 to 100 per cent in less than 11 hours for the xDrive 50 variant. The same charger will take over 7.5 hours to charge the xDrive 40 from 0 to 100 per cent.

The BMW iX price is expected to start from INR 1 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, the car will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz EQC, Audi e-tron SUV and Sportback, and the Jaguar I-Pace in India. The variants on offer are yet to be known.
