German luxury car maker BMW has teased the first ever silhouette of their upcoming BMW iX1 electric crossover on the internet via a digital ad campaign. The new offering promises to deliver an exorbitant driving range of up to 438 km on a full charge.
The design of this upcoming electric has not been revealed completely though, but, the teaser shows similar design cues from the bigger electric model i.e. the iX3. As the automotive world is rapidly shifting towards electric-powered vehicles, BMW is working on their versatile range of EVs which are bound to be offered globally.

The front end of this upcoming crossover uses sharp lines in the iconic BMW dual-barrel headlamps while the blue accents divulge subtly with the sharp front bumper. The iX1 electric crossover also features the large kidney-shaped front grille which resembles the BMWs evergreen design language worldwide. The front grille also uses blue accents which comply with the fact that the car is a true electric vehicle.
What's remarkable is that the new upcoming car is seeking to feature the latest BMW eDrive technology which embraces a big battery pack and motor combination efficient enough to provide it a driving range of up to 413 - 438 km depending on the driving conditions. This long driving range will make sure that future customers do not face range anxiety issues which have been a prolonged problem with EVs worldwide.
Apart from the battery and motor calibration, BMW iX1 electric crossover will feature some interesting tech such as a large dual-screen 31-inch ultrawide infotainment screen system, a 32:9 ratio panoramic sunroof, and even 8K resolution for the streaming options on the infotainment displays. These features will make the new EV from BMW stand apart from the competition as well. The new iX1 shall come equipped with My Modes which will allow the driver to change the riding dynamics on the go; also the new generation iDrive operating system will mark its presence on the new electric car.
BMW is also developing an all-electric luxury sedan i7 which is claimed to be the world's first electric luxury sedan. The car is due for global debut next month and it is anticipated to deliver a staggering 600 km of driving range on a full charge.
For now, there are no official details about the iX1 e-crossover but as the official reveal is due by the end of 2022, we expect the car to be production-ready by then with a few more add-ons in the features and tech as well.
