Iconic Design True to the Classic BSA Goldstar
The upcoming BSA Goldstar 650 will boast the design cues of the old BSA Goldstar with some modern touches. The design elements match the original vibe with a circular headlamp design giving it a retro look, a teardrop fuel tank, a single seat, and chrome body panels. The Goldstar 650 will get Excel rims which are lightweight aluminum rims for better weight distribution. The motorcycle will retain its old-school charm while incorporating modern elements.
One Of The Largest Single Cylinder Motorcycle
The engine is the key highlight of the upcoming motorcycle. It will be get power from a 652cc single-cylinder engine producing 45 bhp and 55 Nm of peak torque. This 652cc unit is one the largest single-cylinder engine on a motorcycle. Moreover, this unit generates the highest torque in its segment. The Goldstar is a "ton-up" motorcycle, a British term for bikes that can do 100 miles per hour, indicating that the BSA Goldstar 650 will have a top speed of around 160 km/h.
Twin-Pod Instrument Cluster With Analog Dials
To keep the retro charm, the Goldstar 650 will come with a twin-pod instrument cluster with analog dials for the speedometer and the tachometer. Additionally, it will feature a digital odometer and fuel gauge. The instrument cluster will also boast a small display with all the tell-tale lights.
Modern Hardware For Better Performance
The design of the BSA Goldstar will showcase a retro aura but the hardware on the motorcycle will be modern. It will boast first-in-segment Brembo disc brakes on both ends for better braking performance. Moreover, it will get a twin-piston caliper at the front and a single-piston caliper at the back. The motorcycle will also get dual-channel ABS for added safety. Other hardware components will include a telescopic front fork at the front and twin-shock absorbers with 5-step preload adjustment, an 18-inch front wheel, and a 17-inch rear wheel.
Price & Rivals
It's currently unclear whether BSA will announce the price of the motorcycle on 15 August or if it will be an unveil only. However, if we look at the designs and the specifications, it will go up against the Royal Enfield 650s. We can expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 3.10 lakh to Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict
BSA Goldstar 650 will enter the midsize classic motorcycle market and will compete with the already well-established rivals like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & the Continental 650. The Goldstar 650 is expected to be a strong competitor based on its specifications, but its real-world performance is yet to be seen. While the motorcycle is already available in the international market, it's still uncertain whether we'll receive the same version or one with updates made for the Indian market.
