BYD India has introduced its flagship electric vehicle, the BYD Seal, into the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). BYD Seal EV Design
The BYD Seal showcases a dynamic and aerodynamic design. Drawing inspiration from the concept of "Ocean Aesthetics," the EV features sleek lines, a lowered body stance, and an elongated wheelbase. Its front fascia is highlighted by unique double-U-shaped LED headlights with arrow accents on the bumper, lending it a sharp and futuristic look. On the sides, you'll find flush-mounted door handles, 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a gracefully sloping roofline. Completing the aesthetic is a full-width LED light bar at the rear, adding to the vehicle's overall visual appeal.
BYD Seal Interior & Features
The interior of the EV offers a sporty feel with well-bolstered seats featuring ventilation for cooling and heating, memory function, adjustable cup holders, and a 60:40 split rear seat arrangement. Adding to the luxurious ambiance are features such as a crystal gear shift knob and a thoughtfully laid-out cabin.
In terms of technology, it offers a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a silver-plated panoramic sunroof, dual wireless charging pads, adjustable cup holders, electrically adjustable AC vents, windshield Heads-Up Display (HUD), rain-sensing wipers, a 50 L frunk and various other functionalities.

BYD Seal Safety Features
The Seal EV is equipped with an array of safety features, including a 360-degree camera, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), front and rear parking sensors, multiple airbags, TCS, ESP, EBD hill hold control, auto hold, head-up display, Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (ITAC), and more. Additionally, the Seal EV proudly holds a 5-star EURO NCAP crash test rating.
BYD Seal Powertrain & Performance
The Seal EV offers two powertrain options: a 61.44 kWh and an 82.56 kWh battery pack. With the 61.44 kWh battery pack, the motor generates 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, while the 82.56 kWh battery pack produces 308bhp and 360Nm of torque, both directing power to the rear wheels. The Performance variant boasts an impressive output of 523bhp and 670Nm of torque. Customers have the choice between rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. Additionally, the electric vehicle can charge from 0% to 80% in just 45 minutes and achieves acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
