Last Updated On 27th May'24: Pricing: If launched, the BYD Seagull could be placed in the same pricing band as the Tiago EV. This means the entry-level versions could be priced around Rs 8 lakh, while the higher versions with more features will be over Rs 10 lakh.

Launch time: BYD has officially stated that it aims to expand the Indian portfolio. While they have access to multiple models from the international line-up, the affordable Seagull will be on the priority list. It is safe to assume a possible launch next year.

Dimensions: The BYD Seagull qualifies as a small hatchback. However it is slightly bigger than the Tiago EV. It measures 3780mm in length, 1715mm in width and 1540mm in height. The EV sits on a wheelbase of 2500mm and comes with a certified ground clearance of 155mm.

Features: BYD is known for offering class-leading features in its cars, and the Seagull will be no different. This small hatchback offers multiple airbags, hill hold, drive modes, cruise control, NCF-enabled access, wireless charging, a 7-inch driver info display, and more. Other features include a 10.1-inch central screen, LED lights at both ends, a rear camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Battery & Range: The Seagull offers two batteries, both Lithium Iron Phosphate. The smaller unit packs 30.08 kWh and has a claimed range of 305km. The LR, or long-range variant, offers as much as 405km from its larger 38.88 kWh battery pack.

If this car will come with 400-450 Kms in range in real world with this price point and giving fast charging facilities also. It will definitely kill all the other same segment cars and not only EV but petrol also.

If it is 8 Lakhs fully loaded then it will make sense to me. Moreover it should not look a cheap car. Range should be more than 300 and charging should be very fast
