Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV: Design Details
In the latest spy shot, the Citroen Basalt's distinctive body shape is clearly visible, a topic that has been much discussed due to its unique combination of design elements. The front part of the car has an SUV look, similar to the design of its sibling, the C3 Aircross. The side profile features coupe-like rooflines, with a smooth, sloping rear.
With minimal camouflage on the rear, the design is clear and matches what was showcased during its global unveiling on March 27. The alloy wheels resemble those on the Mercedes GLC. This model is part of the same C-Cubed program as other Citroen models, including the C3, eC3, and C3 Aircross SUV, making it the fourth in line.

Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV: Features
On the feature side, the upcoming model is expected to include a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver display, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, keyless entry, cruise control, and more. For safety, it is anticipated to come with 6 airbags, TPMS, ABS, front and rear cameras, ESC, and additional safety features.
There's uncertainty about the inclusion of ADAS. Since this is not confirmed, we won't focus on it here. However, if ADAS is included, it would be a significant advantage for this model.
We would also love to see more comfort and convenience features like ventilated seats, which are available in some rival models. Even the recently launched Tata Altroz Racer, a hatchback, offers such features at an affordable price point.
Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV: Under The Hood
The upcoming model is expected to feature a familiar 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 108 bhp and 205 Nm of torque. It will offer both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
In terms of pricing, it's anticipated to start around Rs 11 lakh and go up to Rs 15 lakh. It will compete with upcoming models like the Tata Curvv, as well as other popular choices such as the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others.
