2020 Honda City is around the corner and will get launched anytime soon. The media drive and the launch of the 2020 Honda City were cancelled due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus and it will happen in future soon. Till then, let's see the big changes 2020 Honda City will receive over its predecessor.
Bigger Dimensions
2020 Honda City has drastically grown in size and attains a larger footprint on the road. 2020 Honda City is 113mm longer and 53mm wider than the current-gen City. However, these enlargements have affected the length of the wheelbase by 11mm only. The wheelbase of the new City will measure 2589mm.
Revamped Interiors
Just like the exterior, the interiors of the City will be highly revamped and better put together. Taking the centre stage will be an 8.0-inch touchscreen offering both Android Auto and Apple Car Play. We might not get to see the all touch-enabled AC control panel which is one of the USPs of the current City. However, we are still not sure whether the interiors will be in Beige or All Black. Other features include automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, engine start/stop button, cruise control, electric sunroof, rear parking camera and auto LED headlamps.

New and Updated Engines
2020 Honda City will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre I-Vtec BS6 petrol engine will be carried over from the current City which will produce slightly more power (120 Hp) and the same 145 Nm of torque paired with both 5-speed manual and 7-speed CVT. Moving to the diesel engine, it will be the same 1.5-litre i-Dtec diesel engine producing 99 Hp and 200 Nm of torque. Do remember, the current City is already BS-VI compliant.

Hybrid powertrain
Although we are not reckoning for the launch of a hybrid powertrain, rumours suspect that Honda will launch the 1.5-litre petrol engine with a hybrid powertrain which will be carried over from Honda Jazz. The hybrid powertrain is expected to produce 109 Ps and 253 Nm of torque. It will return a whooping fuel economy of 40 km/l.

Diesel CVT
Honda will also plonk a 7-speed CVT transmission with the 1.5-litre diesel engine to attract more customers. Current City is not available with a diesel CVT whereas its younger sibling, Amaze gets one. The addition of the automatic transmission will help to get customers of the Hyundai Verna which offers a 6-speed AT with its 1.5-litre diesel engine.
