Ford India has confirmed that the Mustang Mach-E will be launched in India in near future. The much-publicized electric crossover will come to us through the CBU route and the launch of the new model will be in line with the companys plans to continue operating in India through the sale of imported high-end cars.
Speaking on the development, Anurag Mehrotra, MD, Ford India said, The intent is to bring products that are going to be differentiated and we believe to start with the Mustang family of products, which the Mustang coupe and the Mach-E, would help separate from the marketplace and deliver that sustainable, profitable business.

Mehrotra also said that Ford India's performance has been better with models that stand out instead of being me-too products." The performance-bred EV was first introduced in 2019 with a range of electric motor options and rear as well as all-wheel-drive configurations. The entry-level model offers a rear-wheel-drive layout with 270hp on tap while the top-spec version offers a maximum power of 487hp and all-wheel-drive configuration.

There are also two battery packs a 68 kWh unit offering a range of up to 370 km or a larger 88 kWh battery pack with up to 491 km of range on the American EPA cycle depending on the configuration of the electric motor It is early to speculate which variant of the Mach-E could be headed to India.
In terms of comfort and convenience, Ford provides hassle-free home charging solutions by giving customers access to the FordPass Charging Network which is the largest public charging network in America, as it has more than 12,500 charging stations and more than 35,000 charge plugs.
With a peak charging rate of 150 kW, the Ford Mustang Mach-E can add an estimated range of 47 miles in approx 10 minutes while using a DC fast charger. The standard estimated time to charge this EV from 10% to 80% is approximately 38 minutes with a fast charger.

Other than bringing the Mustang Mach-E to India, Ford could also offer the F-150 Lightning, which is nothing but an electric version of the F-150 pickup truck that is very popular in North America.
