Harley-Davidson's X440 has captured the attention of Indian riders, and now, spy shots indicate a sneak peek into upcoming accessories. Beyond the initial five offerings, these latest spy shots have hinted at stylish bar-end mirrors, enhancing the bike's aesthetics. The test mule sightings near Jaipur signal the brand's further steps to expanding the X440 accessory lineup.
The foremost addition in the upcoming accessory lineup is a rear pillion backrest, as evident in recent spy shots captured near Hero MotoCorp's tech center in Jaipur. The images showcase a Harley-Davidson X440 test mule featuring a rear pillion backrest. Although the motorcycle might appear compact initially due to the test rider's substantial frame, it is indeed the X440, debunking any speculation about it being a mini bike, a category not associated with Harley-Davidson.
Additional accessories anticipated, according to Harley-Davidson dealers (unofficial sources), include stylish bar-end mirrors. However, the spy shots of the test mule we obtained did not reveal the presence of bar-end mirrors.
Customizing Through Current Add-ons
Harley-Davidson provides six complimentary items in the PDI kit for the X440, along with five official accessories. The PDI kit includes ORVMs, handlebar weights, saree guard, number plates, and two exhaust heat shields. Paid accessories, like a leg guard and engine bash plate, cost around Rs. 800 each. The center stands and a more comfortable touring seat is priced at approximately Rs. 1,400 each, while a small windshield costs about Rs. 400. These prices may include additional taxes and labor charges. Harley-Davidson also offers branded riding gear and plans further additions to the accessories list for the X440 based on customer demand.
Engine & Specs
The Harley-Davidson X440 is equipped with a 440cc, air/oil-cooled engine, delivering 27bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 38Nm at 4,000rpm. Its single-cylinder motor, mated to a six-speed gearbox, showcases refined performance with impressive low-end and mid-range torque delivery.
Verdict
As the X440 makes waves in the Indian market, Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp have trademarked names like Hurikan 440 and Nightster 440, hinting at future additions to their product portfolio. Speculations arise about the possibility of an ADV or street bike. With a focus on customization, the recent accessory testing unveils a brand keen on offering diverse options and catering to evolving customer demands.
