Harley-Davidson has introduced its most budget-friendly motorcycle, the X440, in the Indian market. The recently launched Harley-Davidson X440 is a result of collaboration with Hero MotoCorp and is priced at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has released the motorcycle in three variants: Denim, Vivid, and S. In this article, we will explore each variant and delve into what they have to offer.

Denim Denim Variant
The entry-level model is the Denim version, which has spoke wheels and tube-style tyres. It features a stylish colour scheme of Mustard Denim and a brand sticker on the fuel tank rather than a 3D symbol. The Denim variant has a TFT LCD and all other variants have the same LED headlamp system. Bluetooth compatibility is not offered. The Denim model, which retails for Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom), is the most affordable Harley-Davidson motorbike in the nation and provides riders with a straightforward yet fashionable option.
Vivid Variant
Instead of the spoked wheels seen on the Denim variant, the Vivid variant, which is the second variant in the list, has alloy wheels. The similar digital instrument screen is still present, however there are no connected features. Riders have additional options with the Vivid version because to its two colour choices, Dark Silver and Thick Red. The Vivid variation, which costs Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), is Rs 20,000 more expensive than the Denim variant since it has more features and better aesthetics.

S Variant
With a number of high-end features, the S model is the line's premium choice. It displays alloy wheels with diamond cuts and a standout 3D branding logo. The digital instrument cluster of the S model has Bluetooth connectivity, enabling, among other linked functions, turn-by-turn navigation support, music management, phone battery status checking, and call acceptance and rejection. A Matte Black colour with Orange highlights and a Bronze finish on the engine case enhance its attractive appearance. The S variant comes with a price tag of Rs 2.69 lakh which is Rs 40,000 over the entry-level Denim variant.
Harley-Davidson X440 Engine & Hardware
The Harley-Davidson X440 has an air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 440cc engine with two valves. Peak power and peak torque for this engine are 27.4 PS and 38 Nm, respectively. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and additional assistance couples this power.

Hardware-wise, all three variants get 43 mm KYB USD forks at the front suspension and preload-adjustable dual shocks at the back. Its seat height is 805mm, and its kerb weight is merely 190.5 kg. The 170mm of ground clearance and the 13.5-lt fuel tank size will provide a practical riding range.
Verdict: The X440 has positioned itself as the most budget-friendly Harley-Davidson motorcycle available in the country. With the support of Hero's extensive sales and service network, the motorcycle will attract a larger customer base. It will compete with models like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 & the Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400.
