The Karizma is a brand in itself, and we don't need to tell you how it evokes that sense of nostalgia among buyers. While it did return in a new avatar, Hero MotoCorp seemed to have bigger plans, and thus the Hero Karizma XMR 250 was born.

Hero Karizma XMR 250 Highlights
An All-New Engine and Hardware
The Karizma XMR 250 is built on the same platform as the Xtreme 250R, and as such, it is powered by the same 250cc, liquid-cooled powertrain, producing 29.5bhp and 25Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Built on a similar trellis frame, it features the same 43mm USD forks and a 6-step adjustable monoshock.
Design
The bigger Karizma looks similar to the XMR 210, but the fairing has been reworked upon slightly, giving it a slightly sharper and more beefier look. The headlamp also appears to be sharper, and it gets race-inspired winglets as well. The tail section of the Karizma XMR 250 is also similar to the Xtreme 250R, but the XMR gets a conventional number plate mount, instead of the swingarm-mounted unit on the naked.
Features
Hero has not commented a lot on the equipment list, but it does come with height-adjustable clip-on handlebars, switchable ABS modes, a lap timer, drag timer, automatic projector headlamp, turn-by-turn navigation, and music streaming among other things. We can expect more things to be announced closer to launch.

Expected Price And Rivals
The Hero Karizma XMR 250 goes up against the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, the Bajaj Dominar 250, KTM 250 Duke, and the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. We can expect it to be priced somewhere around the Rs 1.99 lakh mark (ex-showroom).

Verdict
The Hero Karizma XMR 250 is indeed a step up from the XMR 210, thus finally giving an option to those who want something powerful yet with the simplicity and reliability one usually associates with Hero MotoCorp. However, we shall wait for the official price announcement and a proper ride review before any further impressions.
