Hero Xpulse 210

The Xpulse 210 is likely going to be among the most anticipated two-wheeler unveils at this year's Expo. It takes the same 210cc, liquid-cooled powertrain from the Karizma XMR here, producing 24.5bhp and 20.4Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

In terms of design, the Xpulse 210 is slightly different from the current Xpulse 200 4V, featuring a more angular, sharper profile overall, and a redesigned fuel tank. The wheel sizes continue to be 21-inch at the front and 19-inch at the rear, with spoke rims. It also gets conventional forks with protectors with 210mm of travel, along with a monoshock at the rear with 205mm of travel. However, Hero has not specified on any degree of adjustability.

In terms of equipment, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster with a completely new UI, along with switchable ABS modes.

The Xtreme 250R was also among the bikes shown at the EICMA, and it is the production version of the Xtunt 2.5R Concept. Built on an all-new platform, it is powered by a new 250cc liquid-cooled engine, which produces producing 29.5bhp and 25Nm of torque, making it marginally more powerful than some other 250cc motorcycles in the market.

The Xtreme 250R follows a modern, naked streetfighter design, with a broad, muscular stance, and it gets a unique tyre-hugger at the rear with a license plate holder. In terms of hardware, it gets a trellis frame suspended on 43mm USD forks and a six-step adjustable monoshock. The features list will include things such as switchable ABS modes, automatic projector headlight, and a TFT cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, music streaming, a lap timer, and a drag timer among other things.

Hero is possibly looking to upgrade the Karizma to a bigger platform, and the Karizma XMR 250 is the second of the 250cc bikes planned by the bikemaker.

It shares a lot of its mechanicals with the Xtreme 250R naked motorcycle, featuring the same 250cc liquid-cooled powertrain and chassis setup. Both motorcycles are also quite similar in terms of the features on offer, packing an automatic projector headlamp and switchable ABS modes. Interestingly, the XMR 250 also comes with race-inspired winglets and height-adjustable clip-on handlebars.

The Xoom 160 will be Hero's first attempt at a maxi-scooter, and it was one of the two scooters shown at the previous Auto Expo. While Hero MotoCorp has not launched it yet, this could change at the upcoming Expo.

The Xoom 160 comes with 14-inch wide tyres, split LED headlamps, a tall windscreen, keyless fob, vehicle finder, and it is also likely to come with a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Hero also says the Xoom 160 comes with a 156cc, liquid-cooled engine producing 14bhp and 13.7Nm of torque, and the chassis is suspended on conventional forks and twin shocks. The Xoom 125R was the other of the two scooters shown at last year's Expo. While bearing resemblance to its smaller sibling, Hero has differentiated both these scooters with certain design tweaks, such as a restyled front apron, different tail lights, slightly different side panels, and 14-inch wheels.

The Xoom 125R will be powered by a 124.6cc engine, which is likely the same unit also seen on the upcoming Destini 125, but in a slightly different tune, as here it produces 9.4bhp and 10.16Nm of torque. Hero Destini 125

We rode the updated Destini 125 sometime ago, and given that quite some time has passed since its unveil, we believe Hero MotoCorp could launch it at this Expo. The updated Destini 125 gets a neo-retro styling, while retaining the same 124.6cc engine from before.

In terms of features, the 2024 Destini comes equipped with a full-digital instrument cluster with bluetooth connectivity, a distance-to-empty readout, turn-by-turn navigation, self-cancelling turn-indicators, an illuminated starter button, and a seat backrest as standard.

The Vida Z was shown at the 2024 EICMA, and it comes with a removable battery pack. Speaking of battery packs, the Vida Z receives multiple configurations, from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh units. We can expect Hero to announce final range figures at the Expo.

Features-wise, it gets a a touchscreen TFT cluster with OTA updates, running on a new connectivity cloud platform. It also comes with geo-fencing, vehicle health monitoring, theft detection, and vehicle immobilization among other things.

Verdict

With Hero having shown plenty of bikes and scooters at the EICMA and last year's Expo, the Indian bikemaker could finally launch these products, which have been long overdue. These will also help Hero MotoCorp reach a newer audience base that looks for premium, aspirational products.
