Honda has finally brought in the City Hybrid and the bookings for the same have commenced. The launch is still far away but with its unveiling, we've come across certain things about this upcoming product. In this article, we will be sharing some of the features, engine specs, variants, mileage and more such details of the City hybrid.
As far as the name is concerned, Honda calls their upcoming hybrid sedan, City e:HEV. Under the hood, this sedan gets a 1.5L four-cylinder, Atkinson cycle motor with a PCU (power control unit) and an advanced Li-ion battery. This one also gets two motor e-CVT (traction and generation).
Honda City e:HEV also gets multiple drive modes (pure electric, petrol and hybrid) and has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 26.5 kmpl. The peak torque sticks at 253 Nm and is available right from 0 to 3000 RPM. We expect the power figures to stick to 109 bhp combined from petrol and electric motor.

Safety features include as many as six airbags, a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist system, road departure mitigation, tyre pressure monitoring system, acoustic vehicle alert system, disc brake on all four wheels, automatic brake hold system, rear-view camera, lane watch camera, emergency stop signal, vehicle stability assist and agile handling assist.
The new City Hybrid will be based on the top of the line ZX variant only. Feature-wise, it gets full LED headlights, auto high beam, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7.0-inch full HD multi-information display, two-tone ivory and black interior, leatherette upholstery, smartwatch connectivity and among others.
Design-wise, it now gets a new claw type fog light garnish, solid wing front chrome grille, trunk lip spoiler, rear bumper diffuser with carbon finish, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, signature blue H-mark logo at the front and rear and others. Honda is providing a 3 years/unlimited km warranty on the City e:HEV along with an 8-year warranty on the Li-ion battery. Customers can also extend to 5 years/unlimited km and 10 years/ 1,20,000 km plan as per their choice.
