Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater Front Facia Spied On Cam For The First Time

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder spied testing
  • Reveals front facia for the very first time
  • Expected to retain the current engine options

Toyota Hyryder and the Maruti Grand Vitara twins have done pretty well in their segment, and it can be attributed to quite a lot of things that they got right, whether it is a fuel-efficient engine that balances power and economy, or the full-hybrid variants, which, although more expensive, offer exceptional economy. Now, these twins are working on their 7-seater versions, the Toyota's test mule has been spotted again, but revealing its front profile for the very first time. Check out what the spy shots reveal in this section, but before that, make sure to join the 91wheels WhatsApp Community to never miss out on any latest news and automotive updates.

7-Seater Toyota Hyryder- This Is How It Looks

After the success of the 5-seater model, the next in line, the 7-seater 3 row option, is currently testing in full swing. Not that we haven't spotted the test mule earlier, but the front facia is what we have the latest on camera. And although the blurry shots do conceal major details, the SUV appears to feature sleek LED DRLs similar to the five-seater Urban Cruiser Hyryder, while the main headlights are positioned lower in a boxy enclosure. Up front, it looks like there's a new grille, tweaked air dams, and a reworked bumper for a more distinct identity. The side profile suggests a stretched silhouette to fit the third row, complemented by newly designed alloy wheels.

At its rear, it will continue to offer a connected lightbar and a tweaked lower bumper that would distinguish it from its younger sibling. Although Toyota hasn't revealed the interior yet, it's expected that the 7-seater Hyryder will offer something more than the current model. A 6-seater configuration with captain seats could also be on offer. Likely features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated powered front seats, a larger touchscreen, a digital driver's display, wireless charging, and a premium audio system. Safety will probably be a focus too, with standard six airbags, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and potentially some ADAS features to keep it competitive.

Powertrain Details

The upcoming 7-seater Hyryder is expected to retain the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines, one with mild-hybrid tech mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, and the other a strong hybrid paired with an e-CVT. However, both setups could see slight upgrades in power and torque outputs. While the CNG option might be dropped to maximize cabin space for the third row, this remains speculative for now.

As for the launch, it will make its way after the 7-seater Grand Vitara, which is also expected to be around late 2025 or early 2026. For the pricing, expect the variants to be around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakhs more expensive than the regular 5-seater variants. It will rival the likes of MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and other 7 seater options.

Verdict

The Hyryder has proved that the masses are ready to go beyond just Creta and Seltos, and also that you can have the ever popular Grand Vitara, with a distinct taste on the road. The new 7-seater versions will further make the market more receptive to new players, and when its Maruti and Toyota, the geneal mass appeal associated with reliability and lower maintenance costs works pretty well in their favour.
