Honda has launched the 2022 CB300R motorcycle in India. The latest iteration of their neo-sports caf頷as first unveiled in December at the India Bike Week.
Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India has officially launched the latest iteration of their neo-classic sports caf鬠the CB300R, here in India. The overall design of the motorcycle remains largely the same as its BS-IV variant, but with some crucial differences.
For, unlike the last bike which followed the CKD route, the new CB300R will be locally built instead. This brings down its price to a reasonable Rs. 2.77 lakhs (ex-showroom price, Delhi). It will still use the same two premium color options Matte Steel Black, and Pearl Spartan Red as it used to before. The new motorcycles will be exclusively available at Honda BigWing dealerships across India, alongside the CB 350 and CB 350 RS.
Present at the occasion of the launch was the Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI. He exclaimed his confidence how the new CB300R will help establish customers trust & Hondas commitment towards them. He further pointed out that, The 2022 CB300R is finally here. Since its introduction, it has held high standards of engineering. With distinctive features and dynamic road presence, we are confident customers will be delighted with the new CB300R.
The Director of Sales & Marketing of HMSI, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria was also present at the occasion. Speaking about the launch, Mr. Guleria emphasized the exciting ride quality, that the new CB300R will offer. A fun ride on city-streets and lightest in its class, new CB300R comes with Assist & Slipper clutch which reduces fatigue and Golden Upside Down Forks which offer riding precision and enhanced sporty appeal, Mr. Guleria explained.
One of the most notable updates that the new 2022 CB300R boasts is its BS-VI compliant 286 cc engine, which now produces slightly more power. The BS-IV engine used to produce 30.4 bhp and 27.4 Nm of torque, but the new engine will produce 30.7 bhp. However, both torque and power are now produced at a higher rpm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed manual and this time it comes with a new assist & slipper clutch. The clutch lever in the previous iteration felt heavy and would tire you easily if driven for long in city traffic only.
Another key upgrade is that both the 296 mm floating disc brake with 4-pot, and 220 mm rear disc brakes come with dual-channel ABS. The ABS in turn again works on the Inertial Measurement Unit, which helps in uniform front and rear wheel braking, and distributes the weight optimally. Aside from that, the USD forks are now golden colored, instead of silver color.
Other key upgrades lie with its instrument cluster. Aside from the plethora of information that is already displayed, the 2022 model will also display gear-position and side-stand indicator. Besides, the fully digitalized liquid crystal meter is comfortable for both night and day viewing.
