Engine, Gearbox, and Performance

The Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 is powered by 162.7 cc. This engine delivers 12.7 hp and 14 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 5-Speed MT. Just like other engines from the brand, this engine also comes with fuel-injection technology. The engine scores high in terms of refinement levels and overall smoothness but lacks in the top-end. The bike delivers around 50-55 km per litre in mixed usage.

Ride and Handling

The Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 is underpinned by a diamond type frame and gets telescopic suspension at the front. At the rear, we get hydraulic mono-shock suspension which gives it a very complaint and a comfortable ride experience. The badly patched surfaces are nicely absorbed by the suspension and the overall ride and handling balance is spot on. There are no harsh vibrations noticed at the higher speeds and the bike stays planted when pushed hard. However, the softer suspension makes the Unicorn 160 a little bouncy when being driven on the roads with undulations.

Looks

The Unicorn remains one of the best looking bikes in the brand's lineup. It not only has a subtle design language but also looks very elegant due to the addition of some chrome elements. The signature tail lamp design has been retained and the bike is available in three colour options - Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, and Mat Axis Gray Metallic. The seat is positioned at a comfortable height and overall, the bike scores high in the practicality and the looks department.

Price and Rivals

The Honda Unicorn 160 BS6 is priced from Rs 94548 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and has rivals such as the Hero Xtreme 160R, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The brand is offering 3 years of standard warranty with the Unicorn 160 BS6. It is worth noting that the buyers can also opt for the additional three years extended warranty program.
