It looks like Honda India is soon going to expand its operations in India. HMSI has recently patented two different scooters in India. One such product is the Winner X performance scooter. It is based on a sporty chassis and a powerful 150cc engine. However, the patent has led to speculations about its India launch. Read all of its details below.

Honda Winner X Details

Speaking of Winner X, it was launched recently in Vietnam. It gets a sporty design with sharp edges. Additionally, elements like a sharp LED headlight & LED taillight make it look more aggressive. As it competes with Aerox 155, it gets 17-inch alloy wheels making it look big in size. Meanwhile, the semi-fairing style of body panels and the absence of a footboard makes it a less practical scooter for India. However, it is based on performance rather than utility.

Honda uses a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Winner X. This engine makes a good 15.4 bhp of peak power & 13.5 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the transmission is a 6-speed manual box that is seamless in power delivery. It is very unlike Aerox because Aerox gets a CVT automatic. Hence, the case of Winner's relevance in India decreases further. But, Honda has benefitted it with a low kerb weight of 155kg, low seat height of 795mm, & a 4.5-lt fuel tank. It also gets a keyless start/stop function.

Meanwhile, the features list on the global model is long enough. A multi-color TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lights, dual disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, etc., have been fitted on it. Additionally, the big 17-inch tyres make way for high-speed stability and more traction around the corners. Contemplating, it is a fun-to-ride machine and less about utility.

Verdict

Winner X makes a good case for itself among the enthusiasts. It is sporty enough to look at, it performs fast, & it is filled with tech. But, India's two-wheeler market is very picky about its niches. Hence, introducing a geared scooter with a heavy engine isn't a very bright idea. However, it is unsure whether Honda will launch it in India or not. In past as well, Honda has patented global models but not launched them in India. However, if it is launched sometime in the future; we will love to ride it.
