The current talk of the Auto space is the all-new Hyundai Verna 2023. And it also makes sense with the popularity it enjoys among the masses. What's even more notable is that this is the fastest sedan in the segment. The ADAS suite is here, with dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrument cluster. Don't get us wrong, It has tons of features and offers a great package for the price, but even after all of these things, some things always miss the final product.
These are the top 5 things, which we wished were present in this all-new Verna in addition to the existing features.
1. No 360 Degree Camera On the Hyundai Verna
It gets a radar-based ADAS housed on the front grille and a rear camera with parking sensors. But what it lacks is a 360-degree camera setup. This is a miss considering that the competing sedans in the segment do offer this, now not-so-exclusive feature in their higher variants. This could have been included for better maneuverability.
2. Hyundai Verna 2023 Ends The Diesel Legacy
With the 2023 Verna, the diesel has been shelved for good. The Hyundai sedan has now shifted to petrol-only powertrain options. While there is still turbo petrol available, a diesel engine on offer could have been more inclusive for customers looking for a diesel sedan. This would have not been very difficult as the diesel engines in the Hyundai's lineup have been updated to meet the new emission norms. The same could have been retuned to suit the Hyundai Verna.

3. No Hybrid Powertrain
The continuation of point number 2 gets us to the third point. It is the absence of a hybrid engine unit. When the decision to go only for petrol is taken, it makes much more sense to introduce a hybrid powertrain option. The Honda City 2023 offers a petrol-only and a petrol-hybrid engine option as well. It helps increase the mileage of the vehicle while providing assistance to the engine.
4. Blind Spot Monitoring
See that little yellow prompt on the corner of the ORVM. It lights up when it detects an incoming vehicle from the blind spots of the driver. This is a feature that now is coming with affordable cars in the segment as well. We would have loved to see this complementing the ADAS function, considering that Verna offers segment-leading features since its inception.
5. Powered Seats Still Having Manual Adjustment
The Verna is advertised to now feature a powered seat for the front passengers. While this is a very welcome move by the company, the height adjustment is still a manual affair. This is a little awkward considering that the power is already being provided for seat adjustment. Including this element would have been a much more practical thing to do.
VERDICT- Do not misunderstand us. The Hyundai Verna is a very premium product. But nothing is perfect, it always has something more that could have been done. We list out the things that we wish were present. What do you think about the new Verna 2023? Will it outsell the 2023 Honda City or will it remain the second-best? Do share your thoughts and opinions with us. We love to connect with our audience.
