Features
KIA Carens offers a premium design and a plethora of features. The Carens is one of the most feature-loaded MPVs under Rs 20 lakh. It comes with an electric sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a BOSE premium sound system, air purifier, among other features. Some of these features are not available in any other MPV in the segment.
Multiple-Engine Options
The Carens is available in three engine options to suit different types of buyers. It offers a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine producing 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The second engine option is the 1.5-litre diesel motor with 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with an option of a 6-speed MT, an iMT gearbox, and an AT gearbox. For the enthusiasts, the Carens comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as well. This engine produces 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of peak torque. This comes with a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed iMT gearbox.
Different Seating Options
The Carens comes with two seating options 6-seater and 7-seater. The 6-seater variant comes with two captain chairs on the second row whereas the 7-seater version comes with a bench on the second row. Accessing the third row is very easy in both variants, as the Carens features a one-touch tumble button that folds the second-row seat with a single touch.
Variants In Demand
According to the brand, 57% of buyers prefer the petrol powertrain followed by the demand for diesel powertrain with 43%. For the transmission choices, the manual transmission continues to be highly preferred, with 62% of customers opting for it.
