- It is expected to become the first MPV in India to get advanced ADAS tech by Sept
Kia Carens is one of the most tech & feature-loaded family MPV in India. Although the Kia Carens already offers some best & first-in-segment features, Kia recently launched a new luxury (O) variant of the MPV with some additional features at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, Kia is expected to launch the Carens facelift in India sometime around September. The new facelifted Carens will get some new features like ADAS tech. Yes, you heard it right. The Kia Carens is set to become the first mass-market sub-20 lakh MPV in India to get advanced ADAS tech. Here's every detail about the upcoming Kia Carens facelift with ADAS.
Kia Carens Facelift: 1st Sub-20 Lakh MPV With ADAS
Currently, only the Kia EV6 offers ADAS tech in India. The upcoming 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is set to become the second Kia car in India to get the ADAS tech. However, it seems Kia also wants to disrupt the sub-20 lakh MPV segment by introducing the ADAS tech in the upcoming Carens facelift. When it comes to ADAS hardware & features, we expect Kia to offer at least a camera + radar based level-2 ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, auto high beam assist, etc. However, just like the much more expensive EV6, Kia could also go with a 3 radar setup instead of just one in the Carens facelift.
Kia Carens Facelift: Other Changes & Additions
The new Kia Carens facelift is expected to carry a new front and rear design. Design changes are expected in the front & rear bumper, headlamp unit, & taillamp unit. From the side, most likely, the facelifted Carens will remain the same as the current one. On the features front, Kia might add a new panoramic sunroof in the facelifted Carens. Moreover, a new updated infotainment system and a new fully digital instrument cluster could also be included on the top variant of the Kia Carens facelift.
