Kia Motors in New Zeland recently conducted a one-of-its-kind impact test to demonstrate the safety standards of the Kia Carnival. While most of the authorities and crash test organizations conduct horizontal crash tests and head-on collisions to determine the safety standards of a car, Kia conducted a vertical crash test of its 8-seater MPV by dropping it from a height of 12.6 metres. Kia Carnival Vertical Crash Test

To conduct the Kia Carnival vertical crash test, the car was raised to a height of 12.6 metres and then was dropped. At the time of the impact, the speed of the car is said to be 56 km/h. The post-impact shots clearly reveal that the Kia Carnival performed really well in this unique crash test. The crumple zones absorbed the impact and the safety zone around the cabin prevented any injuries to the passengers sitting inside. Let us remind you that the prev-model of this car scored a perfect five-star rating in the ANCAP crash tests, making it the safest 8-seater MPV in New Zeland. While we still await the crash test results of the latest generation of the Carnival, it is expected that this model will perform equally good as the outgoing model. Kia claims to have used 52 percent AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel) for reinforced body structure which makes the Carnival highly safe during a crash.
