Kia Motors India has recently filed a design patent for the update of its premium electric car, the Kia EV6 facelift in India. The patent filing suggests that the automaker is planning to launch the facelifted Kia EV6 in India. Kia EV6 Facelift Exterior
The upcoming facelifted Kia EV6 will feature an all-new front fascia. These upgrades include new LED headlamps and DRLs that seem to be derived from the EV3 and EV4 concept. Apart from this, the new facelift version will get a new grille and bumper. All in all, the subtle design changes on the front will make the electric SUV look more contemporary and modern.
The electric SUV will get no major design overhaul at the rear. It will continue to feature the signature LED light bar that covers the full width of the car. However, the side profile will get a new look with elements such as new 19-inch and 20-inch black and silver wheels.
Kia EV Facelift Interior Updates
The Kia EV6 facelift will get some major additions on the feature front. The electric SUV will feature a new panoramic display that houses an infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Also, there's a new two-spoke steering wheel and a fingerprint recognition functionality. You get all the connected technologies such as Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
The electric SUV will also receive OTA updates, this time not only for navigation but also for other equipment such as electronic control systems. The extension of the OTA updates to the ECS will further increase the vehicle longevity. Additionally, you get a heads-up display, rear-view mirror, digital rear-view mirror and an AR navigation system inspired form the modern Genesis models.
Powertrain Improvements
The Kia EV6 facelift will feature a new 84 kWh battery pack instead of the previous 77.4 kWh. The updated battery pack will provide a higher range of 494 km on a single charge. In comparison, the current gen Kia EV6 offers a maximum range of 475 km. For charging purposes, the company will offer a 350 kW DC charger that will charge the E-SUV from 10-80 per cent in just 18 minutes.
