HTK(O) Variant Arrives At Dealership: Dimensions And Looks
Kia is gearing up for the launch of the Kia Syros, and excitement is building as dispatches to dealerships have already begun. The Syros will be offered in a total of six trims: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O), and this time around, we have the second base variant, the HTK(O) in this walkaround. While it is slotted above the Sonet and matches up to the 3995mm in length, it gets much more space inside which also gives that impression when you'll first enter the cabin. Dimensionally, the Syros shares the same overall length (3,995 mm) as the Sonet. However, it's slightly wider at 1805 mm and taller at 1680mm. The wheelbase also receives a boost, stretching 50 mm longer than the Sonet at 2,550 mm.
Tech features are impressive, with a large 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system taking center stage. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines. You'll also find handy features like Type-C charging ports, steering-mounted audio controls, electric power steering, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, driver seat height adjustment, and a lot more. However, it does skip out on an automatic climate control setup.
Safety is a top priority, with Kia offering 20 standard safety features across all variants. This includes a comprehensive airbag system (front, side, and curtain), a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, and then a few.

Engine Details
The Syros HTK (O) sticks to the basics when it comes to transmissions. While you can choose between the peppy 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine (120 PS/172 Nm) or the punchy 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm), both are exclusively paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in this trim. If you're looking for the convenience of automatic shifting, you'll need to step up to higher Syros variants, where you can opt for a 7-speed DCT with the petrol or a 6-speed automatic with the diesel, but ultimately shelling out more for that option.
Verdict
The Kia Syros is aimed at a different section of buyers those who want a compact SUV, but with a heigtended level of comfort and conveneince. It is mainly developed for those who want more luxury when on the inside and a little to do with the exterior looks, which although is a bit polarising, looks good in my opinion, espeacially in real world.
