The deliveries of the all-new Mahindra Scorpio N commenced on 26th September and only the production of top spec Z8L trim was prioritized, basis the customer demand. According to the delivery timeline communicated to the customers on Mahindra's official booking status tracking portal, the deliveries of the Z4 trim were initially set to begin around mid-November. Moving ahead, the ongoing supply chain issues coupled with the SUV's recall played the spoilsport and the deliveries of the affordable Z4 trim was delayed.

Mahindra Scorpio N Z4: Spotted at Chakan Plant
Now in the latest development, the Z4 trim has been spotted at Mahindra's Chakan-based manufacturing facility. The elements that classify the SUV in the pictures as Z4 are black steel wheels, blacked-out roof rails and side profile devoid of chrome elements. According to reports, the production of Z4 variant is in full flow and deliveries are expected to commence soon. Along with this, some customers are also receiving communications from authorized dealerships regarding their tentative delivery dates.
Talking about the Mahindra Scorpio N Z4 trim, it is one of the most affordable variants of the Scorpio N's entire line-up. With a staring price of Rs. 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the most expensive Z4 4X4 diesel MT will set you back by Rs. 16.44 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of equipment, it is kitted with features such as touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Cruise Control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, seat height and lumbar support adjustment amongst others. Some of the notable design elements of the Z4 trim includes silver front grille, black skid plates, dual barrel halogen headlamps, tall stacked LED tail lamps, 17 inch steel wheels with wheels covers and more.
Under the hood, the Z4 is available with the choice of petrol and diesel powertrain. The 2.0-liter mStallion petrol churns out 200 bhp, while the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel comes in two states of tune i.e. 130 bhp with manual transmission and 175 bhp with an automatic gearbox as well as 4X4 trims.

Verdict: Although the demand for top rung Z8L trim was on higher side, Mahindra should have given equal focus to the lower trims in order to meet the expectations of the customers. Now that the issues related to supply chain seems to be sorted, the customers who have their Scorpio N booked in introductory price should wait patiently for the their new vehicle.
