Mahindra XEV 9e Interior To Get Triple Screen Set-up
The Mahindra XEV 9e, a larger electric coupe-SUV than the BE 6e, will boast a distinctive interior with a unique triple-screen setup wit one being the digital cluster, another one being the infotainment screen, while the third one being the co-passengers touchscreen. Each of the three 12.3-inch screens, featuring a 1920x720 resolution, will run Mahindra's Adrenox software. The SUV will also feature a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated logo. While some switchgear, such as the HVAC controls and center console, will be shared with the XUV700, the XEV 9e will also introduce features like an electric parking brake and multiple drive modes and will introduce superior features than its flagship ICE offerings.
Mahindra BE 6e
The latest teaser confirms the design direction hinted at by previous spy shots. The Mahindra BE 6e will feature dual 12.3-inch screens and a distinctive wraparound element that creates a driver-focused cockpit. The interior will also include a twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra BE logo, a panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake, and multiple drive modes. Being a less superior model than the XEV 9e, this will skip the third touchscreen and the co-passenger will not be getting any specific touch pad to play with.
Mahindra's upcoming electric SUVs will be built on the all-new INGLO platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. This platform promises enhanced safety, efficiency, and range, delivering a multi-sensory driving experience. The first two models to be launched on this platform are the XEV 9e, an electric coupe-SUV inspired by the XUV700, and the BE 6e, the inaugural model of the new Born Electric lineup. While these will be the first to hit the market, there are more products line-up to take the baton forward.
Verdict
The EV demand curve has somewhat flattened over the course of time and the early excitment is now wearing off as the real-world challenges slowly came up with range anxiety being the most part of it. However, Mahindra seems optimistic with its new range that promises a good enough range which looks like the only thing this segment has to come out of. People are open to EVs if they cover longer disctances and the juice-up time is shorter than what it is now, and if the new models can counter this effectiely, there is still a lot of scope for the EVs.
