Mahindra XUV700 Interior Seen Yet Again, Merc-like Touchscreen Detailed

Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most awaited 7-seater SUVs in the country right now and we believe that the model will be launched in later 2021. Several spy shots for the Mahindra XUV700 has been spied but this time it focuses more on the interior and the Mercedes styled touchscreen. Yes, the dual screens really bring a presence to the cabin.

The wide dashboard of the Mahindra XUV700 with dual screens, touchscreen for the infotainment unit and another for the digital instrument cluster bring an upmarket feel. The interiors now get dual-tone black and great colour scheme and a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with multifunction.

From the pictures, the centre console takes inspiration from the Mahindra Thar and we see the cockpit-style layout down the centre AC vents. Then you have the electronic parking brake with the auto-hold function which we think will be reserved for the top-spec variants only.

Other features on the upcoming XUV700 include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, the biggest panoramic sunroof measuring 1360 mm X 870 mm, leatherette upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, gearknob and we can also expect soft-touch materials on the dashboard and the door consoles.

For better sound output, the XUV700 will be equipped with a high-end music system and you will also see roof mounted speaker. Similarly, the middle-row will be equipped with AC vents and adjustable headrests. The third row will get its own air vents with blower controls.

Mechanically, the Mahindra XUV700 will feature powerful petrol and diesel units. The 2.0L mStallion and the 2.2L mHawk are the same units as seen on the 2020 Thar but are now tuned to provide more. Sharing details on the petrol version then it will generate 197 bhp on tap making its strongest point. However, we are not really sure about how much the fuel economy it will deliver in the real world.

Similarly, the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit is expected to give figures close to 185 bhp. When compared with rivals like Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus (168bhp/350 Nm) and Hyundai Alcazar (113bhp/250 Nm), the XUV700 will have a strong hand.

Safety features on the Mahindra XUV700 are also top-notch as it provides an advanced driver assistance system with Level 1 Autonomous technology, rear disc brakes, front parking sensors, ISOFIX mount child seats, ABS with EBD and ESP, traction control, hill hold control and more.

As of now, we expect the prices to stick between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. We are in a dilemma that is the upcoming XUV700 rivalling Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar or creating its own segment because of the first in segment features and the powerful engines. We can only confirm that once the prices are announced.
