Mahindra has recently updated its flagship SUV the XUV700 with new variants and a new edition. The brand has recently launched the base spec MX trim with a 7-seater configuration and a Blaze edition of the SUV. Now, it seems like the brand is ready to give yet another update to the SUV. Recently, an approval certificate of Mahindra XUV700 with AT gearbox has been surfaced online. Read details of the new type approval certificate below. Mahindra XUV700 MX Automatic Coming Soon
According to the recently leaked document, the Mahindra XUV700 MX trim is all set to get an Automatic transmission version. Currently, the MX variant is available with a manual transmission only. The document has revealed that the XUV700 MX trim will get an AT gearbox with the 5-seater variant. Till now, the AT gearbox was available in the AX trim levels only.
The MX variant is the base spec trim level of the XUV700 lineup. Previously, it was available with a 5-seat configuration only and a few weeks back the brand added a new 7-seat configuration as well.
The addition of the automatic transmission in the MX trims will increase the demand for the base models. The MX trims get 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 7-inch cluster, 4 speakers, electrically adjustable ORVM, ISOFIX mount, and smart door handles among other features.

Mahindra XUV700 MX Trim Engine Options
The MX trims come with an option of a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 152 bhp of power and 360 Nm of peak torque and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 197 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are currently mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
