Independent Designer Renders Mahindra XUV700 as True Blue Off-Roader

Mahindra has recently revealed its upcoming flagship, the XUV700, which is expected to go on sale very soon. The new model will be available in 34 variants to choose from and its prices will start from Rs 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Even before Mahindra revealed its upcoming SUV, various rendered images were circulating over the web to showcase the model in different avatars. Recently, a new digitally rendered image has been uploaded by Gen-X Designs which has redesigned the SUV with a true off-roader character. This Mahindra XUV700 off-roader concept will surely appeal to those who like their cars bold and loud.

The first most obvious change in the car is that its standard wheels and underbody have been replaced with off-road-spec units. As an add on, wheel arch cladding has also been introduced in the new design. The modified heavy bumper, integrated LED fog lamps and a bash plate is an addition to its character.

To make the SUV a better off-roader, the height of the car is increased and a side-step like the one on Fortuner has also been added. The designer has introduced a complete LED pack with integrated LED lamps at the front, rear and even on the roof.

Gen-X Designers have replaced the front grille with a big mesh grille with small LED headlamps. Glancing at the roof, the car now has a huge luggage carrier and a LED flasher just ahead of the carrier. The redesigned styling language of the SUV is an impressive one. The digitally modified XUV 700 even looks a bit too loud for everyone's liking in the yellow flashy paint. The car already has all the off-roading capabilities by default but this redesigned one, if brought to market, will make its own presence.

For the regular XUV700, Mahindra is ready to offer two engine options- a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which delivers 200 PS of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque, and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which churns out 155 PS of power and 360 Nm of peak torque with the manual transmission and 185 PS of power and 450 Nm of peak torque with the automatic transmission. Both petrol and diesel engine motors will be mated either to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. XUV 700 will be available in five-seater and seven-seater options compete against the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
