Around the time of its launch, if you remember, the waiting period of Mahindra XUV700 was touching an absurdly long timeline, exceeding a whole year in some cases. Now, in April 2024 things are a lot merrier and the waiting period of all the trims has been brought to under 2 months. Let's look at the waiting period in the table below.

Entry-level MX and AX3 trims can now be driven home in around a month. Mid-level AX5 trims might take a little longer, with a wait time of up to 1.5 months. Top-of-the-line AX7 and AX7L variants sit at 1-1.5 months waiting as well. It's important to note that variants with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) may have different waiting times that aren't currently specified.

The XUV700 packs a punch with two engine choices. The first is a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine churning out 200 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. If diesel is your preference, the XUV700 offers a 2.2-liter option in two states of tune: a 155 horsepower and 360 Nm variant for entry-level trims, and a more powerful 185 horsepower and 420 Nm (450 Nm with automatic transmission) version on higher-spec models. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, and the diesel gets the added option of all-wheel drive for those seeking enhanced off-road capability.

Verdict

The waiting period of XUV700 under 2 months would be next to impossible to believe just a few months back, but this is now indeed a reality. Moreover, ideally these are reasonable cushion period where both the buyer and manufacturer can comfortably navigate through the process. But nothing better than no waiting period at all !!
