In mid of 2021, Mahindra launched its much-awaited XUV700 in the market and within months time the company was able to reach the 75,000 bookings milestone however the production numbers are still the same due to which the deliveries are getting late. The top-spec variant of the XUV700 has a waiting period of 18 months now.
The company has revealed the waiting period list which says that the base trim has a waiting period of a minimum of six months whereas the top-end trim (petrol and diesel) has a waiting period of 18 months. The only reason for the late deliveries of XUV700 is the shortage of semiconductor chips.
Mahindra is trying to arrange chips as much as possible but at the same time, it is also trying to convince the people to opt for the mid-spec trims so that the chips can also be used for the production of more and more cars. This would also result in faster deliveries. The company had not expected that the XUV700 would be a hit in the market and the company would be able to receive so many bookings.
The waiting period can also be reduced or increased depending on the availability of the car. The actual delivery date will be revealed over the phone, SMS, or at the given email address. At the same time, it is shocking also that if someone has booked the car today they are expected to get it delivered by mid of 2023. Until the time these chip shortage crises are not solved the carmakers will continue facing problems in the production of cars.
Mahindra XUV700 is available with two engine choices in the Indian market. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is capable of churning out 200PS of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque and the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine is capable of producing 185PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a manual and automatic gearbox.

Mahindra XUV700 looks modern and bold with its new design language and the newly designed logo is another attractive element. XUV700 is the first SUV to offer best-in-class features and creature comforts. It is also available with five-seat and seven-seat choices.
Even the base trim comes equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital cockpit as well. As you start spending more money the company will also start providing more and more features with its mid and top-spec trims. The company has introduced the SUV at a competitive price tag in the market.
