The new 2020 MG Gloster is powered by two BS6-compliant diesel engines. It gets a 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine that develops 163 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 375 Nm of peak torque between 1500-2400 RPM. It also gets a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel motor that churns out a massive 218 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 480 Nm of peak torque between 1500-2400 RPM. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The single-turbo diesel engine gets 2WD system (rear-wheel drive) but the twin-turbo motor gets an on-demand Intelligent 4-wheel drive system.

The Toyota Fortuner is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.8-litre diesel engine. This diesel motor churns out 177 PS of power at 3400 RPM and 420 Nm of torque between 1400-2600 RPM [MT] / 450 Nm of torque between 1600-2400 RPM [AT]. The Fortuner comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Also, it is the only SUV in our comparo that gets a petrol engine too. It gets a 2.7-litre petrol engine that delivers 166 PS of power at 5200 RPM and 245 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Diesel Fortuner can be had with both 2WD as well as 4WD drivetrains but the Petrol Fortuner is only available with a 2WD drivetrain.
Then, coming to the Endeavour. So, the 2020 Ford Endeavour is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine. This oil-burner churns out 170 PS of power at 3500 RPM and 420 Nm of peak torque between 2000-2500 RPM. It comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Finally, coming to the last contender which is the Mahindra Alturas G4. So, the Alturas G4 is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine that churns out 180 PS of max power at 3800 RPM and 420 Nm of peak torque between 1600-2600 RPM. It comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The Endeavour and the Alturas G4 can be had with both 2WD as well as 4WD drivetrain options.
