MG M9 EV MPV Spied Testing On Road; Makes An Impression

The MG M9 EV MPV was recently teased by the brand with the confirmation of its debut at the Auto Expo 2025. Now the same has been spotted rolling on roads under black and white camo, revealing the sheer size that it carries. There's no doubt that this is a big vehicle, and the road presence feels imposing with its upright stance, which is pretty standard for this type of vehicle. At the back, there are vertical LED taillights connected by an LED light bar. And for easy access to the back, it's got power sliding rear doors as well. Not much has been revealed in these images apart from its road presence and a few bits already known.

Although the interiors could not be papped this time, it is expected to mimic the international version. The MG M9 is likely to come in both seven and eight-seater configurations, so there should be plenty of room inside. They're really pushing the luxury angle with features like power-adjustable front and rear seats that are heated, ventilated, and have a massage function. You'll also find the fancy fold-out ottoman seats, power sliding rear doors for easy access, and not just one, but two sunroofs. For entertainment and connectivity, there are rear-seat screens, a high-end sound system, and all the latest tech you'd expect in a modern premium MPV.

Battery And Range Details

We don't have the specifics on the battery for the Indian version of the MG M9 just yet. However, the international model uses a single electric motor paired with a 90 kWh battery, which delivers 241 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. It claims a range of around 430 km overseas, but it remains to be seen if MG will tweak this setup for the Indian market.

Verdict

The MG M9 MPV will be psotioned as a premium mover from the brand and will likely challenge the Kia Carnival MPV with its tech laden interiors and sleek modern aesthics. MG did quite well with its previous EV, the MG Windsor, which withing just three months of launch, became the best selling electric car in the country. If the pricing could undercut its rival, the MPV space could potentially witness a new solid contender.
