Ather Rizta Teased: Coming Soon In A Few Months
Mr. Tarun Mehta, the companys CEO, in acknowledging the excitement surrounding the upcoming release, playfully alluded to the company's earlier model, stating, "We had our share of fun with 'Diesel.' However, our first family scooter won't bear the name Diesel (apologies to Fast and Furious enthusiasts)." This remark indicates a shift from the technical naming convention used for their previous models to a more consumer-friendly approach.

Mehta underscored that the Ather Rizta signifies a notable shift in focus, targeting families specifically. In contrast to their earlier sporty and youthful models such as the 450 Series, the Rizta is anticipated to be larger, more functional, and designed with a family-oriented approach. Mehta highlighted the changing preferences of Indian buyers, indicating that Ather Energy aims to address these evolving demands with the introduction of the Rizta.
Observing the test mule, the Ather Rizta will adopt a flat apron. In contrast to the existing 450 lineup, its side panels exhibit minimal cuts or creases. The LED headlight is seamlessly integrated horizontally into the front panel, and a similar format is applied to the taillight. It is expected that the floorboard area of the upcoming Ather Rizta will offer more spaciousness compared to the current 450X model.
Powertrain And More
Anticipations suggest that the Ather Rizta might share its hardware, features, motor, and battery with the 450 series. In the existing lineup, Ather provides the 450S with a 2.9kWh battery, while the 450X is available with 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh battery options. Both models share a top speed of 90kmph. Notably, the 450S offers a range of 115km, whereas the 450X with 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh batteries provides 111km and 150km of range, respectively.
Ather Energy is gearing up for the much-anticipated reveal of the Ather Rizta during ACDC 24 Ather Community Day Celebration 2024.
