If you were waiting for the launch of the new Toyota Land Cruiser in India then chances are you will be a bit disappointed. The luxury SUV from the Japanese carmaker was supposed to be launched this year that is 2022, however, that will not be the case now. Why - read on!
As per the official Toyota global website, the waiting period is stretched up to four years. Yes, with its growing popularity, the SUV is in huge demand globally. Based on the reports of the international market, the launch of the new 300 could be delayed in India too.
Based on the new GA-F platform, this new 300 series is 20% more rigid than the older one. Interestingly, the new platform is also 200 kg lighter than the outgoing model.

Feature-wise, the new model now gets heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, connected car technology, digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and others.
On the safety front, the new Toyota Land Cruiser scored 5-star in the ANCAP (Australian New Car Assessment Program). The Australian-spec Land Cruiser was equipped with autonomous emergency braking, front and side airbags and an advanced speed assistance system. It scored 88% in child safety and 89% in adult safety.
Under the hood, the SUV gets both petrol and diesel engine options. The 3.5-litre V6 churns out as much as 409 bhp with a peak torque of 650 Nm while the 3.3L oil burner makes 304 bhp with a whopping 700 Nm of maximum torque. Both the motors get mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
