Skoda Superb: Stylish & Elegant
The prominent Skoda grille now exhibits a crisper and more sculpted appearance. When viewed from the side, the Superb maintains its characteristic long and low profile, distinguished by a distinct crease in the middle that accentuates a bold shoulder line. In comparison to its predecessor, the five-door sedan has grown by 43mm in overall length, coupled with a notable 10-15% enhancement in aerodynamic efficiency. Meanwhile, luggage capacity has increased by 20 liters to 645 liters.

At the rear, the wraparound taillights have been further enlarged, showcasing more defined creases and lines that dominate the overall design theme. On a global scale, the new generation Superb will introduce six fresh color options alongside standard choices such as white, silver, grey, and brown. Additionally, the L&K variant, specific to this new generation, will feature an exclusive color scheme, a distinct alloy wheel design, a dark chrome grille, and two unique L&K-specific color options.
Interior & Features
Inside, the Superb follows the new Skoda Kodiaq SUV with three 'smart dial' controls on the dashboard, offering customizable functions. These dials can manage seat heating, interior temperature, infotainment volume, fan speed, air-conditioning, and navigation zoom. Physical buttons on the console and steering wheel handle crucial functions like window defrost and audio settings. Infotainment options include 10-inch or 13-inch touchscreens. Skoda prioritizes sustainability with 100% recycled textiles and 'cognac' brown leather tanned using wastewater from olive processing. The interior also boasts practical features like a parking ticket clip, a rear-view mirror USB port, and hi-vis vest storage.
Skoda Superb now receives level-2 ADAS, park assist, 10 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control program, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, and an emergency assist program that takes control of the car in extreme situations, guiding it to a stop by the side of the road and initiating a call to emergency services.
Skoda Superb Engine: Diverse Options
In this new generation, the Superb will retain its PHEV powertrain, offering an extended all-electric range of 100km. Additionally, Skoda will introduce its 1.5-liter mild-hybrid technology for the first time. In India, the Superb is expected to continue with the 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine. It puts out 201bhp, 330Nm of torque, and comes with a seven-speed DCT transmission.
Verdict
With the fourth gen Skoda Superb now revealed, it is safe to say that the sedan has got significantly better than the outgoing model. With that said, the older gen Superb was nothing short of a premium, feature-rich and a practical sedan. Another noteworthy thing is that the outgoing third-gen model is the one that is most probably launching in India soon. Also, join our Whatsapp Group Community to find out more news like this.
