Nissan Magnite Facelift: What's New?
Exterior
The Magnite facelift retains most of its familiar, core design, but there are a few tweaks here and there. The grille has received a subtle redesign, making it look more imposing with a more prominent black border and a blacked-out pattern, while the headlights remain largely the same.
However, the front bumper has been redesigned, and the placement of the fog lamps has also changed. There are also new colour schemes on offer, such as the new Sunrise Copper Orange.
While the profile also remains largely unchanged, Nissan has given it new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy rims which had also been teased on social media sometime ago. Things remain nearly identical at the rear as well, with the familiar tail lights and the tailgate. However, the bumper receives a slight redesign, and there is a chrome strip above the central Magnite badging.

Interior and Equipment
The interiors of the new Magnite aren't drastically different from the outgoing car either, as it retains the same dashboard, controls, and the steering wheel. However it now gets dual-tone treatment, matching the Sunrise Copper Orange theme of the exteriors.
The new Magnite also gets an updated 7-inch instrument cluster, a new 9-inch touch screen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto (Apple CarPlay remains wired), 4-colour ambient lighting with memory function, a 10-litre cooled glovebox, a 360-degree camera, a 3D sound system from Arkamys, wireless smartphone charging, an air purifier, a new remote key with engine start/stop and proximity lock/unlock, automatic headlamps, auto-dimming IRVM, hill-start assist, traction control and more.

Powertrains
Under the hood, Nissan is offering the same two set of powertrains; the 1.0-litre nat-asp petrol, and the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, both with a 5-speed manual transmission, but while the nat-asp petrol gets an AMT, the turbo-petrol engine comes with a CVT option for the automatic.
The 1.0-litre nat-asp powertrain continues to make 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, while the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol produces 98.63bhp and 160Nm of torque (152 with the CVT).
The new Magnite is available in five new variants; Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, Tekna+. While the non-turbo petrol is accessible from all variants, the turbo-petrol becomes available from the Acenta variant onwards, but in the CVT guise. For those who want a manual, you'll need to get the N-Connecta variant.
Verdict
The Magnite facelift isn't exactly a huge change, and it sticks to more or less the same familiar formula from before. However, there is plenty of new metal to expect from Nissan in the coming months, and the Magnite will follow that direction eventually.
