Ola S1 Electric Scooter- Delisted From The Offical Website
Ola Electric started delivering its S1 and S1 Pro models in December 2021. But now, they have decided to remove the S1 model from their e-scooter lineup. The Ola S1 used to cost Rs. 1,29,999 (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru), which is Rs. 20,000 more than the introductory price of the S1 Air at Rs. 1,09,000, and Rs. 10,000 cheaper than the S1 Pro.
Ola officials haven't given an official comment on this decision. But existing S1 customers can still avail of the company's services for their vehicles.

The Ola S1 electric scooter was a mid-variant, equipped with a 3 kWh battery and a 5.5 kW motor, enabling it to reach a top speed of 95 kmph and travel up to 141 km on a single charge. It came with several impressive features, such as LED lighting, a seven-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, three ride modes, and even a reverse mode.
On the other hand, the Ola S1 Air, which is built on the same platform as the Ola S1 Pro, is powered by a hub motor called Ola Hyperdrive Motor. This motor has a power output of 8.5 kW and offers 58 Nm of torque, supported by a 3 kW battery pack. With this setup, the Ola S1 Air can cover a distance of 125 km on a single charge. Noteworthy features of the S1 Air include twin projector headlamps, curved side panels, a 7-inch TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, GPS, and music playback. Some of the main rivals of the S1 are - TVS iQube & Ather 450S.
Verdict
The discontinuation of the Ola S1 might have left some customers unhappy. It's possible that the decision was influenced by the relatively small price difference between the S1 and the newly launched S1 Air. However, it's worth noting that existing S1 customers will continue to receive the company's services for their vehicles.
