The commencement of the deliveries of the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro has been now pushed to the middle of next month, thus further increasing the waiting time for all those who have booked this electric scooter
The highly anticipated Ola S1 and S1 Pro have again received a push back on their delivery timelines with the company now informing the waiting customers that it would begin the delivery from the mid of next month. There is a delay in commencing of the deliveries of the e-scooters due to the shortage of global chips and electronics.
When Ola opened up its two days booking window in mid-September, the company told its prospective buyers that the deliveries will start latest by November end. As the company received a lot more bookings than expected it ran a shortage of raw materials due to which there is a delay in delivery.

Ola customers are eagerly waiting for their e-scooters whereas some are even trying to connect with the Ola team to have updates on the bookings. However, Ola is apologizing for the delay in its delivery and is also requesting to wait for some more time. The company is in plans to commence deliveries from December, 15 - 31 and an official from the team has confirmed that they have informed all of its customers about the shortage of global chips and several other equipment in India and as well as in the international markets.
By December 15, the company is promising to expand its test rides models across 1000+ cities in India so that people can first experience the ride then go for its bookings. The company is excited to receive more and more bookings which also help society better understand the concept of e-scooters. That said, the people will be able to look at it live, experience and feel its ride quality, and several other factors to consider.

At the time of booking, the company had then only told its potential buyers that the booking amount paid is absolutely refundable till the time your scooter is delivered. When it had opened up its bookings, the company claimed that it had sold Rs 1,100 crore in just two days. The most expensive, Ola S1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.29 lakhs (ex-showroom) which means the company was able to receive 85,000 bookings for S1 Pro.
Ola said that it is also taking the issues under consideration which were seen in the first lot of scooters delivered. The company had received multiple complaints regarding a lag in the throttle, heating issues, lack of features promised, and a bug in its software.
